Zip World Outdoor Adventures

Zip World offers a selection thrilling outdoor adventures and activities, from adrenaline-pumping ziplines to treetop explorations, ensuring plenty of fun for all.

A choice of 3 centres all within easy reach each offering a choice of different activities.

Bethesda – Velocity the world’s fastest zip line, reaching speeds of up to 125 mph, Quarry Karting, Aero Explorer

Llechwedd- Blaenau Ffestiniog a disused slate quarry now home to an incredible underground adventure zip line and adventure course.  Titan, Bounce Below and Caverns with 13 zip lines, as well as via ferrata, rope bridges, tightropes and more, to push your bravery and endurance to the ultimate test. There is something for everyone in all weathers.

Betws y Coed, a host of forest adventures to keep the whole family busy all day. Choose from the Forest Coaster, bouncing fun on Treetop Nets or zip line and adventure courses high in the trees.

Snowdonia Adventure Activities

Locally based Snowdonia Adventure provides instructor led activities to people of all ages and abilities. Activities include rock climbing and abseiling, kayaking, canyoning, gorge walking, mountain biking, mountain walking and scrambling, canoeing and underground trips. A superb range of quality activities that can be enjoyed by everyone, no previous experience is required.

Snowdonia Flight School

Located 15 minutes from Gwrach Ynys at Llanbedr Airfield is a flight school offering flight LAPL and PPL flight instruction including expert ground school tuition and flight experiences. Operating in one of the most picturesque areas, enjoy stunning views of the coastline, mountains, and places of historic interest.

Cycling

There is hardly an area in the world that can offer the same cycling experience coupled with fantastic countryside as Snowdonia. The north /south cycleway passes within a mile of Gwrach Ynys and the area has vast amounts of both Cycling and Mountain bike trails suitable for people of all ages and abilities.

Traffic free trails

• The Mawddach Trail which is part of the National cycle Network is only 20-minute drive. It is a 9-mile, one way stretch along the picturesque Mawddach estuary on the former rail track to Dolgellau. If you are feeling more energetic you can start in Barmouth, cross the bridge, join the tack, visit the RSPB centre at Penmaenpool and stop for a snack and drink at the George Hotel. A great day out.
• Lon Las Eifion a scenic traffic free trail that goes from Bryncir to Caernarfon along another old rail track.

Mountain Bikes and Forest trails

In Snowdonia, you will be spoilt for choice for places to go cycling and mountain biking.

• Coed Y Brenin Forest Park, Ganllwyd, hosts world champion competitions you’ll find miles of world-class mountain bike trails with easy to follow waymarked trails, all graded by their technical difficulty and length. You will find all-weather trails covering all riding abilities be it MTB expert, intermediates, families, or the absolute novices.
• Gwydir Forest, Betws y Coed – The Gwydir Mawr trail (formerly known as the Marin) is one of the original MTB trails. A true classic – big climbs, big descents brilliant single track and truly awesome scenery make this a trail to remember.
• Penmachno Forest – Dolen Machno & Dolen Eryri. Penmachno Trails are the hidden gem of mountain biking; 30km of super-sweet single-track and scenic forest trail, riding high through Snowdonia National Park.
• Beddgelert Forest

When having a day off the bike you would be welcome to leave it in our secure garage. Or if you have forgotten your bike at home there are plenty of places to hire bikes.

White water rafting

White Water Adventures at Bala – a top destination for white water sport, and the venue for a series of international competitions. Fantastic rafting adventures on raging natural rapids. A wild day out that a rainy day cannot spoil!
